The coaxial and hull DT machine guns on the other hand, are each pre-loaded to feed from one 60-round belt, and have a further four belts in reserve for a total of 600 rounds combined (with each having access to 300 rounds worth of belts).

The standard loadout of the T-34 gives the main gun 10 rounds of armour-piercing (AP) and 33 rounds of high-explosive (HE) shells. A second forward-facing 7.62 mm MMG is also fixed to the front-right section of the hull. It is armed with an 85 mm gun and has a coaxially-mounted 7.62 mm medium machine gun. The T-34's main attributes are its simple design, which makes it easy to mass produce and repair. It was first developed in 1936 and had its early prototypes in production by 1939-1940.

Then-considered a technologically innovative design, the T-34 was created to address the shortcomings of the earlier BT series of tanks in use by the Soviet Armed Forces.
